the practice of weaving a strand of yarn through a needle or hook with my hands has become a means for self-regulation. stress, tension, anxiety is eased with the repetition of an action, the consistency of building out a pattern, a structure that i can follow along in my mind, the soothing feeling of yarn threading over my fingers, the stimulation both physical and mental as i watch one thing become another: a metamorphosis that is within my control
